Introducing the Pet Bereavement Café
posted 31st July 2026
At Rainbow Bridge, we’ve always believed that the grief following the loss of a pet deserves the same compassion, understanding and support as any other bereavement.
That’s why we’re incredibly proud to be launching our dedicated Pet Bereavement Café, in partnership with Bereavement Café CIC.
As far as we’re aware, this will be the first dedicated Pet Bereavement Café of its kind, providing a welcoming, supportive space where people can come together to talk, listen, remember and support one another following the loss of a beloved companion.
Because grief is grief
The bond we share with our pets is unique. They are members of our families, our closest companions and a constant source of unconditional love.
When they die, the grief can be overwhelming. Yet many people feel they have to minimise their feelings or that others simply don’t understand.
We believe that grief is grief. There should never be any judgement over who or what we mourn.
Our Pet Bereavement Café has been created to offer a safe environment where you can speak openly about your pet, share memories, or simply spend time with others who understand exactly what you’re going through.
Everyone is welcome
You don’t have to have used Rainbow Bridge to attend.
Whether Rainbow Bridge cared for your pet, your veterinary practice arranged their aftercare, another pet crematorium looked after them, or you’re simply looking for support following the loss of a beloved pet, you are very welcome.
The café is open to anyone who is grieving, regardless of where or when their loss occurred.
A place without pressure
There will be no expectations and no obligation to speak.
Some people may want to share stories and memories of their pet, while others may simply wish to listen and know they’re not alone. However you choose to attend, you’ll be welcomed with kindness, understanding and compassion.
Our hope is that these sessions will become a source of comfort, friendship and reassurance for people who may otherwise feel isolated in their grief.
Coming soon
We’re honoured to be working alongside Bereavement Café CIC to bring this much-needed support to our local community.
More details, including dates, venue information and how to attend, will be announced very soon.
If you or someone you know is grieving the loss of a beloved pet, we hope you’ll feel able to join us.
Because no one should have to grieve alone
